All about our MDBR Hunting Club!

Nice Toms!
Welcome to our MDBR site! We are a very small hunting club located in Chatham county North Carolina. We formed our hunting club in 2008 primarily to establish a small club where we could find a decent lease and split the fee across all members. Currently, our lease and insurance fee's (with us having 10 members each year) allows us to set our membership dues at $650 per member.
MDBR stands for Managing Doe to Buck Ratio and with our hunting club utilizing QDM (Quality Deer Management) practices, we are always working to improve our deer herd. Although our rules imply that a shooter buck must have a least 3 points on each side AND a 16" inside spread, most of our hunters have higher requirements. These 'rule requirements' are mostly to allow our kids to experience their first buck or first larger buck. We also have a few 'management bucks' that are allowed to be taken each year. Our Trail Camera pictures will tell us which bucks are considered 'management' and they pictures can be shared before the season starts.
With MDBR being in Chatham county, there is no dog hunting allowed. We are strictly a ladder stand or climbing stand club with at least 15 ladder/box stands available for any member to use (first come/first serve). Members are also allowed to bring in their personal ladder stands; however, most of us utilize our climbing stands, allowing us to basically hunt anywhere on the lease.
